Copy Trading for Beginners

Copy trading is your account acting on someone else's trade plan. You still own the book. You still set the rules. Merc is execution on that book, not a pooled copy product and not a bot that invents entries.

What copy trading is

In plain language, copy trading means a source publishes a plan and your account can follow it. The plan usually names a pair, a side, an entry, a stop, and targets. You are not drawing that plan. You are deciding whether your money is allowed to act on it.

That split matters. The source is responsible for the call. You are responsible for the account, the size, and the refuses. If someone sells copy trading as a way to stop thinking, they are selling a story. Markets do not honor stories.

What you still own

Your money stays on your own MEXC Futures account. Merc does not take custody. There is no shared pot, no mirror of someone else's fills, and no withdrawal path through Merc.

  • The balance is yours on MEXC.
  • The API key you connect is trade-only.
  • Size, leverage, and stops follow your rules.
  • A refused signal stays refused.

What Merc is not

Merc is not an exchange copy-trading product. It does not warehouse your balance and it does not clone another trader's exact fills. Execution is ticket-shaped on your book: your size, your leverage, your limit entry, your stop and targets under your risk rules.

Merc is also not a strategy bot. It does not scan charts for setups. AI never picks trades. Templates and regex parse a message. Rules validate it. A bad or incomplete signal is rejected, not guessed into an order.

The two source kinds

On Merc the sources are Discord communities and Copy traders. That is the whole list. You pick who to listen to. You arm a source when you want it to trade. Unarmed sources can be read and logged. They do not place orders.

A Discord community posts signals in a channel your admin approved. A Copy trader is a person you follow from the catalog. In both cases Merc is still executing someone else's signal on your MEXC book. The source does not override your rules.

Rules before size

Copy trading without rules is just speed. Speed is useful when a signal is clean. It is expensive when the message has no stop, the pair is wrong, or you already have too many positions open.

Merc refuses what your rules refuse. That can feel strict the first week. Strict is the point. The desk will show why something was skipped. You can read Risk disclosure before you arm anything.

Who this is for

This page is for people who do not want to become chart readers and also do not want to hand a stranger their wallet. You can use Merc without placing an order yourself. You still have to choose sources and live with the risk those sources take.

Nothing here is a profit promise. A copied plan can lose. Leverage can lose faster. If you want the product walk-through, start at How Merc Works. If you want the venue steps, use How To Copy Trade On Mexc.

Questions

Is Merc the same as copy trading on an exchange?
No. Exchange copy products often warehouse or mirror fills. Merc places orders on your own MEXC Futures account with your size, leverage, and rules. Merc does not take custody.
Do I need to know how to trade?
You do not need to read a chart or type the order. You do need to pick sources you trust and set rules you can live with. Merc executes. It does not invent the call.
Does Merc pick trades with AI?
No. AI never picks trades. Parsing reads the message. Validation checks the structure. Your rules decide whether an order is allowed.
